EXPANDED DIAGNOSTIC FEEDBACK SERVICE
Purpose
The purpose of the Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service is to provide you with detailed information about your performance on an AEPA test that you did not pass. The service is designed to reveal more clearly areas of strength and weakness in your most recent performance on the test so that you may better prepare to take the test again.
The Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service is not a test rescoring service. Requests for the service will not change your score on a test. Also, the service is not designed to provide you with suggestions for study aids and other preparation activities that may help improve your performance on a test. You are encouraged to consult with the advisor or director at your educator preparation program for information on preparing to take the AEPA tests.
Options
If you did not pass an AEPA test, you may request the Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service and receive an analysis of your performance (1) on the selected-response section of the test only or (2) on both the selected-response and performance assignment sections of the test. For a single test administration, the Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service may include the following information:
- Selected-response section: (a) a review of your overall performance on the selected-response questions and (b) the percentage of selected-response questions that you answered correctly for each subarea and each objective on the test
- Performance assignment section: a review of your written (and oral, if applicable) response(s) to the performance assignment(s) based on the performance characteristics that describe the criteria for scoring the assignment(s)
Note that on the professional knowledge tests and most subject knowledge tests the performance assignment section contributes only 10 percent toward your score. However, on foreign language tests (Spanish, French, and German), the performance assignment sections contribute 20 percent toward your score, and on the Principal and Superintendent tests, the performance assignment sections contribute 40 percent toward your score.
Refunds
See "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for more information on fees and payment methods. The Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service is available for the performance assignment section only if you did not perform well on that section. If you request the service for the performance assignment section and your response(s) to the performance assignment(s) have already been deemed in the "acceptable" range, then your analysis will not include any information about the performance assignment section and you will receive a $75 refund.
