Computer-Based Testing
Is Computer-Based Testing Right for Me?
The following AEPA test is now offered on computer in addition to the regularly scheduled paper-based test administrations:
- AEPA Elementary Education (001)
Computer-based testing (CBT) is available during specific testing windows at testing centers throughout Arizona and across the nation. Refer to "Test Dates for Computer-Based Testing" for a list of the testing windows currently open for registration and to "Test Sites for Computer-Based Testing" for information about available testing centers across the United States.
Registration
Registration for computer-based testing is available only on the Internet by selecting "Register Now" on the AEPA Web site. Fees for computer-based testing differ from fees for paper-based testing. The following guidelines apply to computer-based testing registration:
- There is a $34 CBT processing fee in addition to the $35 registration processing fee and the regular test fee. See “Test Fees and Payment Policies for Computer-Based Testing” for complete information.
- You should plan to register as early as possible before your desired testing window. Test appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You must wait 90 days after taking a computer-based AEPA test before retaking the same test on computer.
- See "Test Selection for Computer-Based Testing" for more information about test sessions and registration.
Test Administration
In computer-based testing, examinees complete the tests by selecting answers on-screen to selected-response questions and typing responses to the written performance assignment, if applicable. See "Reporting to the Test Site for Computer-Based Testing," "What to Bring to the Test Site for Computer-Based Testing," and "Test Site Rules" for details about the day of the test, including information about identification and security policies.
Score Reporting
Examinees will receive a receipt of completion at the conclusion of testing. The receipt will include information about accessing score information on the program Web site. A printout of test results will not be provided at the test center.
Scores are reported on the score report date for the testing window. See "Test Dates for Computer-Based Testing" for score report dates and "Release of Your Test Scores" for additional information on score reporting.
