Preparing for the Tests

You can go right to the preparation material you need by selecting "Prepare" on the AEPA Web site.

Test Objectives

The content knowledge assessed on each AEPA test is described in a set of test objectives. Access test objectives available by selecting "Test Objectives" on the AEPA Web site "Prepare" page.

Study Guides

A study guide with preparation suggestions, test objectives, and sample test questions is available for each AEPA test. Study guides for several test fields have been expanded to include 80 practice questions. Fields with expanded study guides are noted with an asterisk (*) on the "Study Guides" page and on the Study Guide Order Form.

The most current study guides can be viewed or downloaded free of charge on the AEPA Web site by selecting "Study Guides" on the AEPA Web site "Prepare" page. You may also use the Study Guide Order Form to purchase printed copies of the online study guides at a cost of $6 per printed study guide. This form is available to download as a PDF document by selecting "Print Bulletin and Forms (PDF)" on the AEPA Web site.

Test Preparation Video

A test preparation video is now available for the AEPA. The video provides a general overview of test preparation and test-taking strategies and is designed to help examinees prepare for the tests by describing how to use the program study resources provided on the program Web site. The preparation video can be accessed from the home page of the program Web site, www.aepa.nesinc.com.

CBT Tutorials

CBT Tutorial Preview. Candidates taking a computer-based test are given an on-screen tutorial at the test center before taking the test. The tutorial demonstrates how to navigate through the test, how to indicate answers, and how to use the features of a computer-based test. Select "Prepare" on the program Web site to access the tutorial.

Pearson Professional Centers Tour. The Pearson Professional Centers Tour gives candidates taking the AEPA on computer a virtual tour of a Pearson Professional Center. It includes a video and floorplan to help acquaint the candidate with the Pearson Professional Centers testing experience. Select "Prepare" on the program Web site to view this tour.
