Arizona Educator Proficiency Assessments

Please note: The information in the faculty manual was current as of the time of publication, February 2005, and was developed for use with custom Arizona tests. Information regarding tests may change as tests undergo redevelopment, and the AEPA program has replaced many custom Arizona tests with equivalent NES® (National Evaluation Series™) tests.

  • Review "Tests" for current information about the tests in the AEPA program.
  • Faculty resources for NES tests are available at the NES website opens in a new window..

The AEPA Faculty Manual is provided in PDF format.

  • AEPA Faculty Manual: contains information about the testing program, its basis in Arizona law and alignment with Arizona standards, the structure of the tests in the program, and the uses of the test objectives and reports prepared for examinees and Arizona educator preparation institutions.
  • Appendix A: Worksheets: provides an Objective-to-Course Matching Chart and a Student Profile Worksheet for faculty to assess student preparation.
  • Appendix B: Informational Handouts: offers preparation materials for students, including Frequently Asked Questions, Developing a Study Plan, and Test-Taking Strategies.
  • Appendix C: Overview of AEPA Tests: comprises detailed summaries of the characteristics and features of each of the tests, including the complete test certificate information, the score scale, the subarea and test item structure of the test, and administration and scoring information.
