Requesting a Rescore

For multiple-choice questions, your answers are scored and then verified before your scores are reported. Therefore, further rescoring is not offered.

There is no rescoring service for the constructed-response section of the NES World Language tests, for the open-response section of the Foundations of Reading test, or for the written performance assignments on the Arizona custom tests.

All constructed-response items are scored according to standardized procedures. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process all constructed-response items are scored by at least two scorers and therefore have essentially already been rescored.

However, if you wish to have your constructed response to the Essential Academic Skills Subtest II: Writing, the Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Elementary, or the Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Secondary tests reevaluated, you may request a rescore of this section of your test. There is a fee of $55 per test for this service.

To request a rescore. A request for rescoring can be submitted online using the Rescore Request Form. Only the aforementioned test sections are eligible for rescoring. You must submit your request for this service within 90 calendar days of the score report date. Payment must be made by a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN).

Resolution. In the event that the rescoring process results in a score alteration, you will be issued a corrected score report, the rescoring fee will be refunded, and your records will be updated. If the original score is confirmed, you will be notified that the score has been confirmed. In this case, your rescoring fee will not be refunded.
